We love fashion. Period...and shopping!
Traditionally, sample sales were the best-kept secret of the fashion industry. Finding out about them required scrupulous research, following numerous bloggers, brands and hosts. Some sample sales required a direct contact at the brand for entry.
We created ShopDrop, an iPhone app that is a complete GPS to all sample sales. We scrape 11 different sites on a daily to ensure that we deliver complete information to our users about the event time, location, merchandise and pricing.
For those who never heard of them, sample sales are 2-5 day events, where designer brands put up their samples and excess merchandise in random locations for crazy discounts (60%-90% off retail). There are between 20 and 100 sample sales in NYC on any given week.
